New Year Aspirations and Inspirations

So...
it's the New Year..
..
2009.
How do you feel about that? Excited? Delighted? Nervous? Terrified? Or just blah? I spent ten days away on holiday with an intention to set specific goals for the New Year within glorious visions! (I am a coach after all!) This didn't work out quite as intended.
But we did have a lovely trip in some of the most spectacular surroundings - and I found myself merely (and I say that lightly) enjoying just being alive and experiencing every day.
"The purpose of life is to enjoy every moment and every step, regardless of where we are when the music ends" Dr Wayne Dyer Because of this, I've reassessed that intention above and have now looked at: Not: -What I want to do - -Where I want to go - -What I want to have - -How I want to live - But, rather: -Who I want to be - -Where I want to be - -What I want to be - -How I want to feel - Still playing around with these notions in my mind, I happened across a movie called "The Air That I Breathe" - with quite a star-studded cast, mind you.
The movie explores emotions (And it wasn't even a chick-flick!) Each person in the story had the desire (i.
e.
purpose/goal) to feel a particular emotion.
eg happiness, pleasure and even sorrow.
The movie holds four or five individuals with unique stories occurring around each other, which "coincidentally" brush the outskirts of each other's life.
The interesting thing (for me) was that when each person followed their desire to feel something and allowed him/herself to fully experience each event and each moment - each one somehow impacted on another.
(Bearing in mind they didn't always know each other!) One, for example saved another's life.
Another one made someone rich! You already know this - It's all about the transfer of energy.
True energy.
By being in your own space and time, energetic waves are sent out that inter-twine with others around you.
It's an energetic pattern that is set in motion by being alive.
So - consider the energetic pattern you transmit when you allow yourself to "be" your true self at any point; when you're connected to your inner source.
Are you currently aware of this? What kind of energy are you transmitting? Negative or positive? Is it the Real You? But - back to our glorious New Year Resolutions -It's all fine and well for goals & resolutions to be achievement- and purpose focused.
It's good actually.
These kinds of dreams open your mind, keep you motivated, provide direction and often increase your feeling of self worth.
We can all do with this.
(Well...
I do anyway) I attended a Christmas dinner just before Christmas and the topic of conversation turned to that thing called the Big Hairy Audacious Goal.
Funny enough...
Many people fancy that ultimate dream house overlooking the ocean/river...
with many cars and toys to back that up.
My question today, however is "WHO do you want to BE whilst living in that dream house?" Please consider including these items in your "goal" list as well.
They're as important, if not more so, than the external manifestations you desire.
I think Carlos Castaneda sums it up beautifully, as follows: Look at every path closely and deliberately.
Try it as many times as you think necessary.
Then ask yourself, and yourself alone, one question .
.
.
Does this path have heart? If it does, the path is good; if it doesn't the path is of no use.
Both paths lead nowhere .
.
(but) one makes for a joyful journey; as long as you follow it, you are one with it.
The other will make a curse of your life.
One makes you strong; the other weakens you.
" Why not consider making 2009 a year of ARRIVING, instead of a year of STRIVING?
