Candida Diet Food

    Proteins

    • Proteins are a low-sugar to no-sugar food, and will not cause Candida bacteria to grow. Eating proteins throughout the day will help keep the blood sugars in the body steady, which will help ward off an overgrowth of Candida bacteria by not allowing the sugars levels in the body to get too high. Try to select lean proteins, such as chicken breast or tenderloin, instead of high fat proteins, such as bacon or marbled steak.

    Vegetable Fiber

    • Fresh vegetables are not only high in vitamins and minerals, but they are also high in cellulose fiber and enzymes, which are extremely helpful in maintaining a healthy digestive tract. When the digestive system is running smoothly, it can flush out the Candida bacteria before it has a chance to start populating. Making sure that you eat plenty of vegetable fiber will ensure that the Candida will not become overgrown in the system. Select vegetables that are both high in fiber and brightly colored, such as broccoli or carrots, so that you will receive a high dose of vitamins along with the fiber. Be sure to eat the vegetables raw if possible.

    Coconut Oil

    • According to Dr. William G. Crook, coconut oil can significantly reduce the amount of Candida bacteria there is in the digestive system. Although high in saturated fat, coconut oil has surprisingly been shown to be healthy in the diet. You can add coconut oil to the diet easily, as coconut oil spreads onto toast or rice cakes like butter, and can be eaten completely raw with no preparation time. It is important to eat it only raw, as heating coconut oil will change the structure of the oil and will diminish its benefits.
