- Visit the Museums
Kenya has plenty of museums all over that offer a rich history of the people, culture, artifacts and wildlife. This can be instrumental for the kids to relate to what they already learnt in school. The museums in Kenya include; Nairobi National Museum, Nairobi snake park, Kariandusi,Fort Jesus, Hyrax Hill, Karen Blixen Museum and many more.
2.    Camping
Most camps can accommodate any one no matter the size of the family. You only need a tent and everything is sorted out. When you are with kids, they can do merry-go-rounds, bouncing castles, swimming and some indoor games. There are many camps in Kenya especially around tourist attractions. You can camp in Naivasha, Nakuru, Masai Mara and other parks.
3.    Hiking
Families with kids above ten years can easily do this. Hiking up a hill, bush adventure or on a mountain together leaves a lasting experience for teens. Depending on the location and cost, families can always choose what is affordable to them. Some of the best places to hike include Ngong Hills, OldonyoSabuk Hills, and Hell's gate.
4.   Water Activities
Water activities range from mild to intense depending on the facilities and places. You can go on a cruise at the coast, swimming, boating, white water rafting and snorkeling. There are baby pools, floaters for starters and nice boats to catch a glimpse of marine environment. Try the Indian Ocean, Rapids Camp Sagana, Lake Naivasha and Lake Baringo.
5.   Ranches and private conservancies
It is unbelievable that most people do not know that these are places that give you that quiet, undisturbed and out the world experiences. The private conservancies in Kenya are well maintained, with scenes that you cannot get anywhere. The chimpanzee sanctuary for example, at Olpejeta is the only place you get to see chimps. Other Places like Lewa and Ol Moran have exclusive wild game that you get to see at close range with kids of any age.
6.      Mountain climbing
Teens will always loves such experiences that are exhilarating .The major mountains in Kenya are Mount Kenya, Mount Longonot and Mount Elgon.You don't need to reach the peak but its always fun.
7.      Beaches
The Kenyan Coast is an amazing to explore with beaches. Walk along the beaches, do camel riding, horse riding and beach sports.There are both private and public beaches depending on your privacy, needs and budget.Bamburi beach, Diani and Nyali beach are one of the famous ones at the coast. Others include Watamu, Shanzu and Shela beaches.
8.      Parks and Lodges.
Kenya has some of the best parks known around the world. The famous Masai Mara known for wildebeest migration.Amboseli National Park at the back drop of Mt.Kilimanjaro,Tsavo National parks and Lake Nakuru National park for plenty of wild game and flora.Lodges also have a good ambiance that makes you experience new leisure and comfort.
9.      Picnic
This is another simpler way of having fun. With minimum resources you can carry packed lunch and only pay for a few things like entry fee. Being with family, you can work out a lot of activities at a picnic site that will create a strong bond amongst family members.
10. Animal Orphanage
The animal orphanage is a;so a better place to get to see wildlife without much struggle and fear.You can feed the animals, play around them and get to know their characteristics.The David Sheldrick Wildlife orphanage is the most famous in Kenya.We also have the Giraffe Manor and the Mamba village.
