  Every trip to China should include a visit to the Great Wall. The closest major city is Beijing, which is easily reached from Seoul, South Korea. There are many different styles of Great Wall tours including bus, biking, camping and hiking tours. Depending on the amount of time you have to spend in Beijing, your tour of the Great Wall can take anywhere from a single day to 9 days.
  
  

Ruined Badaling Wall Overnight Tour

• The Ruined Badaling Wall is a less frequented area of the Wall, making it an ideal location for an overnight camping tour. This two-day private tour is lead by an English-speaking guide who picks you up from your hotel. Starting with a visit to the Sacred Way and the Underground Palace, you are taken to the Ruined Badaling Wall for the night. Tents and sleeping bags are provided. On days when the weather isn't cooperating accommodations are in a nearby hotel. The next day's hike lasts approximately three hours during which time you get to see five or six of the Wall's watchtowers. After lunch, you are returned to your hotel to either continue your Chinese trip or go back to South Korea.

Jinshanling Overnight Tour

• The China Guide, an American run tour company operating out of Beijing, offers many tours, including an overnight tour of the Jinshanling section of the Great Wall. You will be picked up from your hotel and taken to the Ming and Ding tombs before continuing on to the village of Jinshanling at the base of the Great Wall. You can choose whether to sleep within the watchtower or outside under the stars. After seeing the sun rise over the distant hills, you begin a 3 to 5 hour hike along the Wall. The tour covers both restored and unrestored sections of the Wall.

9-Day Hiking Tour of the Great Wall

• Hikers will enjoy a 9-day Great Wall tour that takes them to three separate sections of the Wall. The tour begins right when you land in the airport from South Korea. Guides will bring you directly from the airport to your hotel and spend the next 3 days taking you around Beijing. On the 5th day of your tour, you leave Beijing for the Great Wall and spend the remainder of your time hiking the Gubeikou, Jinshanling and Simatai sections of the Wall. The days are portioned out so that you spend between 3 and 6 hours hiking daily and each night is spent in a nearby hotel.
