The Ubuntu Live CD Won't Boot

    • 1). Download UNetbootin (see Resources). This free application allows you to download at least 40 distributions of Linux and install it to USB. This is the only application of its kind.

    • 2). Plug in your USB drive and launch UNetbootin. Select "Ubuntu" from the drop-down menu next to "Distributions" and click the version of it you want to download. Click the drop-down menu to the right of "Type" and select your USB drive. Click "OK" and wait while it downloads and installs Ubuntu.

    • 3). Restart your computer with the USB stick still in the drive. Press the key to enter your system BIOS at startup and set "USB Device" as "Primary" in Boot Order. Save changes and exit. This boots you directly into Ubuntu from your USB drive.
