How to Learn Esperanto Online
- 1). Don't be discouraged. Esperanto is written with the Latin alphabet, so no need to learn a new writing system. Much of its vocabulary is also derived from Indo-European languages, so you may be surprised at how many words you already know.
- 2). Look into the history of Esperanto. The more you know about something, the more you will want to know. Esperanto has a rich and intriguing origin story, and this will encourage you to become part of the Esperanto-speaking community.
- 3). Look for an online course. Lernu! is a popular one for Esperanto study. Look for examples of Esperanto being spoken on Youtube, join an online community of speakers and arrange to practice speaking with them on Skype or become pen pals.
- 4). Supplement your online study with books, movies and songs. Many authors and poets write in Esperanto, and many films prominently feature Esperanto. Rock bands and folk musicians have also used Esperanto to accompany their music.
