How to Make Baby Block Letters
- 1). Cut a 2-by-2 piece of wood into 2-inch pieces. This will give you a classic wood block size and shape. Make as many as you need for your project.
- 2). Sand the edges of the wood blocks until they are smooth, without any splinters or rough sides.
- 3). Paint a background color on the wood blocks if you want.
- 4). Draw letters on the blocks with a pencil. Put the same letter on all six sides of the block, or put the upper and lowercase of the same letter on one block. Another option is to draw out the letter, then add pictures of items that start with that letter on other sides of the block.
- 5). Paint in the letter and picture outlines using a fine tip paintbrush. Allow the paint to dry completely.
- 6). Add a coat of paint sealer to the blocks; this will protect the paint from peeling and chipping away from wear and tear.
