How to Design a Volleyball T-Shirt
- 1). Decide if you are designing the volleyball T-shirt for yourself or if it will be a shirt worn by a team of volleyball players. If the shirt is going to be worn by a team of players, then you will probably want to get a consensus of what everyone likes before you begin the design process.
- 2). Consider items that must be included on the shirt if it is going to be a game shirt. Decide if the team name will be represented on the shirt or the team logo or both. You will need to decide what size and font of writing you want to represent the team's title. If people's last names will be represented on the shirt's backs, then you will need to make sure you have all the names properly spelled and the corresponding numbers for the back of the shirt as well. You will also need to decide if you want numbers printed on the sleeve as well.
- 3). Choose the color and style of shirt you want to design. If the team has specific colors, then you will want the shirt to be one color and the writing on the shirt to be the other color. If the color does not matter, consider where the games will be played. If the majority of games will be played outdoors in the sun, you may want to choose a lighter colored shirt so it will attract less heat. Choose a shirt with a breathable fabric such as cotton or a fabric that absorbs perspiration from the skin such as shirts made by Under Armor.
- 4). Decide how the lettering will be added to your shirt. You have several options when it comes to lettering on a shirt. You could have it embroidered, professionally screen printed, you could iron it on yourself or you could paint your own design on your shirt with acrylic fabric paints or puffy paints.
