- 1). Wash your hair and condition it in the normal fashion in the evening. Wrap your hair in a towel to absorb the excess water. Leave the towel on your hair for several minutes.
- 2). Remove the towel, and lightly spray your hair with the leave-in conditioner. Comb your hair to spread the conditioner all through your hair.
- 3). Separate your hair into sections for braiding. The smaller the sections, the smaller the braids and resulting waves will be. Clip back the sections you are not braiding and begin with one section.
- 4). Comb through the first section, and begin braiding it. Start the braid near your scalp if you want the curls to begin near your scalp. Start the braid lower if you want the curls to begin lower. Braid the section all the way down to the end, and put an elastic hair band in to secure the braid.
- 5). Braid the remaining sections in the same way until you have braided all of your hair.
- 6). Spray the braids with hairspray to help set the braids as your hair dries.
- 7). Sleep with your hair in braids, and remove the braids in the morning. Finger comb the curls only -- do not use a comb or brush.
- 8). Spray the curls with hairspray to set the style.
