Expert Tips for Buying Shoes

104 9

    Athletic Shoes

    • Before buying an athletic shoe sit down and consider what you plan on using the shoes for and then do your research. A running shoe won't be good for tennis just as a basketball shoe is not going to be good for general walking. Try on several different pairs and walk around in them before you make a purchase. Athletic shoes should be comfortable so you want to ensure a good fit.

    Business and Formal Shoes

    • Be honest with yourself when buying heels or business shoes. While style is always important in such shoes, comfort should be your top priority. Walk around in the shoes and get a feel for the way the heels hit the ground. If they feel even and comfortable you might have found a good shoe. Also feel around the toe of the shoes. If your little toe feels pinched you will quickly find that the shoes will grow uncomfortable and difficult to walk in. Look for shoes made of leather as they are easier to stretch in areas such as the toe.

    Sandals

    • Sandals are a must-have for the spring and summer, but buying sandals can be difficult. In order to get the right sandal be prepared to spend some time finding a good fit. Because sandals are open you will want to ensure that your foot sits comfortably in the shoe or you are risking pain while walking. If the edge of your foot hangs off the sides or back try a half size up. If that does not help it is not the right shoe for you. To get a good deal check out the clearance sections around mid-July. You will find some great sandals that are already considered cast offs.
