    Foods

    • Morning sickness could be the result of being hungry. Eat small but healthy snacks throughout the day to ensure that you are not hungry. Try fruits and nuts, or bring small snack foods with you to ensure that you are always able to eat something. Cravings are often your body's way of requesting the nourishment you need to compensate for the hormonal changes going on and for the fetus that you need to sustain as well. If your cravings are healthy, then follow them and eat when you feel you need to.

Carry small snack foods with you at all times, such as crackers and breakfast cereal. Any snacks that can keep fresh should always be at your disposal. Eat prior to going to bed, and do not fight the midnight snack urge.

Ensure that the foods you eat are high in protein. Add peanut butter to crackers and snack on that at least once a day. Eating fish is also a good source of protien, but if the aroma of fish makes you nauseous then avoid it. Eat and drink as many dairy products as you can in the course of a day. Drinking milk and eating cheese and even ice cream can help you to maintain the nutrients you need to avoid morning sickness.

Drink plenty of water during your pregnancy for your health and your baby's health. Your body may constantly crave water and it is advisable to follow that craving and keep your body full of as much water as you feel you may need.

Women react to pregnancy in different ways. So for some women the suggestions made here may have no effect at all, while for other women these suggestions may be very effective. Consult with your doctor before changing anything to do with your diet while pregnant.

    Surroundings

    • Avoid smells and sights that have a tendency to make you feel nauseous. A pregnant woman is more sensitive to foul odors so it is advisable to avoid them as much as possible.

Dress in light clothing to avoid becoming overheated, as being overheated while pregnant can quickly lead to feeling nauseous.
