    • 1). Hold the old defective RSS by the small antenna tower, located at the top of the device. Free the old RSS by cutting the fishing line secured to the device, using a pair of fishing line snips or scissors.

    • 2). Remove the replacement RSS from the packaging, using the top antenna. Avoid touching the lower sensor area.

    • 3). Attach the line or swivel from your fishing reel to the topmost hole located on the RSS. Attach a lightweight fishing line with the desired hook to the bottom-most hole on the RSS. Keep in mind that the RSS can only support an additional 5.67 grams before losing buoyancy.

    • 4). Determine the channel type for the RSS by examining the supplied documentation. Replacement RSS units may feature an "A" or "B" designation. The mobile station is set to the "A" channel by default; complete the following steps to configure the mobile station to recognize "B" channel RSS devices.

    • 5). Hit the "POWER-MENU" button located on the mobile station. Wait for the display to enter "Fishing Mode."

    • 6). Press the "POWER-MENU" button until "CHANNEL" appears on the screen. Press the left "Arrow" button to select the appropriate "B" channel. Configure the channel options to "B" each time, after turning on the mobile station.
