101 7
There’s nothing worse than being able to smell a moldy toilet from five feet away. Ok, admittedly, there are be worse things

in life, but it’s high on the list of nasty situations. You need to be armed with a strong, but safe toilet bowl cleaner

along for this mission.
There are so many products to choose from, so see this is as a plus, and be picky. Look for something that’s non-abrasive and

can be used on tanks hooked up to septic tank systems.  Then double check the kinds of situations it is prepared to handle,

such as hard water stains from minerals like calcium and magnesium, and normal bathroom soap and scum.
You’ll want something that’s up to the job, perhaps a gel, or something else that’s going to stick it out. Check the

container for a spout, to make for easy pouring. This can also help when you’re aiming for that hard to reach corner. Perhaps

you’ll even luck out and find something that promises to make the job easy too!
Also, check to see if it works on different colored toilet bowls. Sounds funny, but you wouldn’t want a bright white streak

in a baby blue model.
Oh, and make sure the product indicates that it has a half-decent scent. You’ll be glad you did. It can also make the task

that much less disagreeable.
Your trusty toilet bowl cleaner should also be up to other cleaning tasks when you need it; you should be able to dilute it

with water. In a pinch, make up a batch and try it out on the sink, bathtub, and tiles, be they porcelain or enamel, as well

as chrome faucets and such.
In any case, roll up your sleeves and push that brush round in a circular motion, making sure you reach each part of the

surface at least once. Rinse out your brush when you’re done.
Don’t forget to disinfect around the bowl, and, most importantly, that all-important handle. Think about swiping the toilet

paper holder and changing your hand towels at the same time. It’s never a bad thing to remember.
Cleaning the toilet might not be fun, but it’s rewarding. The trick to this one is to make it a regular habit, and to get

everyone in the household involved in the act.
Leave the toilet brush handy, along with the other necessary supplies. Post a schedule or a set of common courtesy rules for

high traffic spots. For a laugh, give the brush a name and create a silly nametag. At the very least it’ll get a reaction,

which means the message got through. At worst, it’s a gentle, humorous reminder.
Once you’ve found one you like, stock up on your favorite toilet bowl cleaner. Keeping your toilet in a shiny condition is

the healthy way to go. If you have pets, it’s also a plus, in case those little guys and gals catch the lid in an upright

position once in a while.
