Hi, I'm Ted. Today, I'm going to show you how to make a chart of viewers per year in Excel. So I have a spreadsheet here that has the year in one column and the number of viewers per year for Ramble Productions in the second column and we're going to make a chart that shows how the viewers have increased year by year. So to do that, to create a chart, there are a number of different ways you can do it. Different people have their own preferred ways but the way I would do this is to select the data, so select both columns of data and then go to the chart menu and it may look a little different for different operating systems and different versions of Excel but look for something called a scatter plot which is just a way of plotting XY data. It's the way I plot almost everything and we click on that and we want a line because we want to see how it's changing from year to year with the points because we want to see what it is each year and you can see the different options you have. You can have a smooth line. You can have a line with points. You can have lines without points. You can have straight lines with or without points. For this I would pick straight with the markers. So we click on that and there's the plot that Excel gives us. So I hope this has been useful.
