How to Fix a Broken Vanity Door

104 3
    • 1). Take off the door by removing the hinges from the vanity frame, using a screwdriver.

    • 2). Place the door on a flat surface once you have removed the hinges from the vanity frame. Remove the screws holding the hinges to the door.

    • 3). Move the hinges slightly above or below their original position. Move them only about a quarter of an inch. The goal is to have solid wood when you reinsert the screws so that they will hold. Secure the hinges in their new locations, using the screws you previously removed.

    • 4). Hold the door to the vanity frame, and ensure that it is straight and looks even on the frame. Fasten the frame part of the hinge, using the screws you took off when you removed the door. Because the hinges have been moved, the door will be a bit higher or lower than it was. Ensure that all the hinge screws are tight.

    • 5). Repeat the entire procedure for the other door if the vanity is a two-door style. This will ensure that the doors hang evenly.
