    • 1). Click "Start." Then, click "Control Panel."

    • 2). Double-click on "Network Connections."

    • 3). Right-click the icon for your network connection. If you are having problems with a wired connection, right-click on the icon labeled "Local Area Connection." If you are having problems with a wireless connection, right-click on the icon labeled "Wireless Network Connection."

    • 4). Click "Repair."

    • 5). Wait a few seconds while Windows XP repairs your network connection. When the process is finished, a dialog box appears on screen, letting you know that you can go about your business once again.
