How to Remove a Failed Update in Vista
- 1). Access the "Start" menu and click "Control Panel."
- 2). Click the "Programs and Features" category.
- 3). Click "View Installed Updates" from the left pane. Windows Vista will show you all of the updates that have been installed on your computer.
- 4). Select an update and click "Uninstall."

- 2). Click "Accessories" and click "System Tools." Click "System Restore." This will launch Windows Vista's "System Restore" feature.
- 3). Select a restore point. Windows gives you the option to choose a recommended restore point, or a restore point of your preference. It is best to choose your own restore point because it will give you more options. Click "Next" to proceed. A list of restore points will appear. Click "Show More Restore Points" to display older restore points.
- 4). Select a restore point that was created before Windows installed the malfunctioning update. Windows gives you a description of each restore point in the "Description" column. Click "Next" to proceed.
- 5). Click "Finish" to restore your system back to an earlier time.
