How to Make a Talkbox for Guitar

    • 1). Remove the computer speaker's casing and you will see a wire that goes to its LED light. Cut the wire. Position the Tupperware container with the lid facing the ground.

    • 2). Get the circuit board out of the speaker and place the speaker inside the container, with the speaker cone facing the bottom of the container. It must be two inches away from the bottom, so use duct tape to hold it in place. Leave the speaker's circuit board outside the container. No duct tape should touch the speaker's cone.

    • 3). Drill a hole in the container's bottom by using a large drilling bit. Do not touch the speaker's cone while you drill. Insert the tubing in the hole and make sure it is not more than half an inch away from the speaker's cone. The tube must not touch the cone. Use some glue to make sure the tube remains in place.

    • 4). Place cotton balls around the speaker until you fill the container. The cotton balls must not touch the speaker cone. Close the container's lid and glue it down.

    • 5). Place the container in an air-tight box and close it. Drill two holes in the box, one for the tubing and one for the cable. Connect the cable to the external speaker jack on your amplifier.

    • 6). Turn up the volume and gain. No sound will come out of the amplifier. Connect your guitar to the amplifier and test your new talkbox by putting the tube in your mouth and making lip movements while you play the guitar.
