How to Take Songs From a CD & Make a Karaoke Disc
- 1). Download, install and run your vocal remover/CD+G creator software.
- 2). Insert the CD with songs you wish to convert to karaoke songs. Songs must be in WAV format. Selecting MP3 files from your computer will produce poor quality results. Changing the file type from MP3 to WAV format will not produce better results due to the compressed state of the MP3 files.
- 3). Click the "Remove Vocals" button or tab on your vocal remover software. Browse for and select the input file. The input file is the song that you wish to convert to a karaoke song.
- 4). Select the "output" location for the finished song/file (without vocals). Click the play button and adjust the parameters (level, balance, bass boost, etc.) in real time as the song plays (if your specific software has this feature). Consult your specific software's instructions for guidance on parameter adjustment.
- 5). Stop the playback ("preview") of your song once you are satisfied with the sound of it and click the "Process" button (or equivalent) to create a copy of the song without the vocals. Refer to your specific software's instructions.
- 6). Open the screen in your specific application that allows you to add lyrics to your instrumental songs and select your newly created instrumental song.
- 7). Find the lyrics to the song on a song lyrics website and copy and paste them into the text area. This will save you from having to type all of the lyrics in manually.
- 8). Select the option from your specific software's synchronization menu that will allow you to synchronize the lyrics with the song. Generally a specific key is pressed as the song is played to highlight the lyrics in time with the song. Refer to your software's instructions for details.
- 9). Play the song back using your karaoke software to ensure that the lyrics are correctly synchronized with the song. Make corrections as needed.
