- 1). Right-click on your Windows XP taskbar.
- 2). Click "Properties."
- 3). Click on the "Taskbar" tab. From here, you can turn on or off options related to the taskbar's physical properties, such as which icons appear on it and whether it can be moved.
- 4). Click on the "Start Menu" tab. From here, you can select between two themes for the Start menu and taskbar. One is the classic Start menu, which turns your Start menu and taskbar theme to a visual style featured in earlier versions of Windows. The standard Start menu theme is an updated visual style exclusive to Windows XP. Click on the theme you want to use.
