- 1). Click the "Start" button and then right click on the "Computer" icon in the menu.
- 2). Click on the "Properties" option and then click the "Activate Windows Now" icon.
- 3). Make sure your computer is connected to the Internet, and then click the "Activate Windows online now" icon.
- 4). Enter your Windows 7 administrator password into the field if prompted.
- 5). Type your Windows 7 product key into the prompt and then click "Next" on the bottom of the software window. The product key for your system is located on the packaging that came with your Windows 7 disc.
- 6). Click the "Activate" button and wait for the activation to complete; this should take about 2 minutes. The window will close after the software has been activated and the error will disappear.
