- 1). Open the "Start" menu and click on "My Computer."
- 2). Access the main hard drive, which is "Local Disk (C:)." Open the "Program Files" folder.
- 3). Open the "StartUp" folder within the Program Files folder and highlight all of the Startup items by pressing the Ctrl and A keys at the same time. If you do not want to remove every startup item, hold the Ctrl key and click, one by one, on the startup items you want to move.
- 4). Right-click the highlighted files and select "Delete." If you do not want to delete the files but you just want to remove them from the "StartUp" folder, right-click the files and select "Cut" instead of "Delete." Then, go to any other folder on your computer, such as "My Documents," and press the Ctrl and V keys to paste all the items to the folder.
