Bob It

• If you hair extends below shoulder length, you can wear it in a bob ponytail. To accomplish the bobbed style, simply sweep all of your hair to the top of your head. Secure it with an elastic band that is neutral or one that matches your hair color. Comb the ponytail into a bob. Use a flat iron to straighten your ponytail from the top to the bottom. When you get to the ends of your hair, gently bump it under with the flat iron. Comb your ponytail to frame your face. Use spritz, styling gel or holding spray to hold your style and prevent flyaways. To dress up your ponytail bob, use an elegant clip or ponytail holder.
  
  

Curl It

• There are many different ways to add curl to your ponytail. If your hair is cut in layers, you can curl your ponytail with an upward flip, working your way from the bottom to the top. Because the hair is layered, when you comb it out it will create a feathering effect. If your hair is short, consider using spritz to form tight curls that form a flower shape. To add interest you can add twists to the front of your hair. Secure the ends of the twist inside of the ponytail with bobby pins.
  
  

Flower It

• Create a ponytail that is on the side of your head by combing all of your hair to the left or right side. If you like, add a small part on the side or down the middle. Secure the ponytail on the side of your head with an elastic band. Stick a flower inside of your hair to embellish your ponytail. You can secure the flower with bobby pins to prevent it from falling out. Live flowers are not recommended, since they will wither rather quickly.
  
  

Weave It

• If your natural hair is too short to sport a ponytail, you do have options. You can purchase a pack of human hair weave or "clip on" weave extensions to create a pony. The hair weave comes in many different colors and textures. Be sure to match the weave to the exact color and texture of your hair. You may need to bring a friend along with you when purchasing the weave, so she can help you get an exact match. After placing the weave in your hair, you will be able to style and curl your ponytail just as if it were your own hair.
