    • 1). Turn the Silverado off and disconnect the negative battery cable by unscrewing its clamp.

    • 2). Locate the stock air box (large black box) in the engine bay. At the connection point, where the intake hose connects to the air box, is the mass air flow sensor. Disconnect the electrical plug going into the sensor. Unscrew the hose clip around the inlet hose. Unscrew the hose clip at the other end of the hose.

    • 3). Pull the radiator tube's clip from the intake hose. Pull the intake hose out of the air box.

    • 4). Pull the other end of the intake hose out of the other end's connection, which inserts into the throttle body. Pull the hose out of the engine bay.

    • 5). Pull up on the air box to remove it from the engine bay. Remove the mass air flow sensor from the air box's tube inlet by simply pulling it out.

    • 6). Insert the mass air flow sensor into the K&N heat shield. Push the foam trim onto the surrounding edge of the heat shield to maintain a tight fit.

    • 7). Attach the C bracket to the lower part of the heat shield. There will be a small C in the assigned area. Tighten it with the ratchet. Repeat this process with the L bracket.

    • 8). Remove the two bolts from the stock air box's mounting tray. Insert the rubber mount into the upper right bolt hole and tighten it with the ratchet.

    • 9). Use the bolt removed in step 8 to secure the C bracket to the stock air box mounting tray. Secure the L bracket to the open radiator hole using the ratchet.

    • 10

Secure the heat shield to the air box tray with the last bolt connecting to the rubber mount from step 8.

Place the rubber tube connections around both ends of the cold air intake hose. Insert the larger side of the cold air intake hose into the engine's intake valve and tighten the hose connections with the screwdriver. Insert the other end of the hose to the mass air flow sensor in the heat shield and tighten its connection clamp.

Insert the cone filter into the other side of the mass air flow sensor and tighten its hose clamp with the ratchet. Reconnect the mass air flow sensor's electrical connection. Reconnect the battery cable and turn the Silverado on to test your new cold air intake.
