- 1). Open a gallon-sized plastic zipper bag and pour 1/2 cup of rubbing alcohol. Ask an adult for supervision. Add approximately 20 drops of liquid food coloring inside. Gently turn the bag around to stir up the ingredients.
- 2). Pour dry pasta noodles into the bag until it is full enough to allow some movement of the pasta. Seal the bag closed and shake it up to distribute the color evenly around the noodles, then set it aside. Create multiple bags for different colored noodles. Let the bags sit out for at least two hours.
- 3). Cut a small hole in the bottom corner of each bag and drain out the liquid into a sink. Pour the noodles out onto a surface covered with newspaper or wax paper. Let the noodles dry completely.
- 4). Cut a strand of yarn for each child that is at least 20 inches long. Let the children string the noodles onto the yarn in their own choice of colors and patterns, then tie them around their necks to wear.
