Because of the attention span of children with ADHD they have a difficult time planning out objectives for homework, getting ready for school in the morning or sticking to regular routines but with your help they can begin to implement these simple organization skills which will last a lifetime.

o Have a designated spot for doing homework so that there no distractions.
If your child doesn't have their own room set up a small table to use as a desk in another room.
o Have a particular spot in the house in which school items are ready to go in the morning.
Don't waste time searching for books, notes, lunches or homework.
o Get clothes and lunches organized the night before so there is no hurrying in the morning.
o Make sure your child has a notebook for writing down instructions and homework from his teacher or a special folder for notes and information from school.
o Allow plenty of extra time for doing activities, eating and getting ready for school.
o Give your child a watch or a special alarm clock just for children to help him or her keep on schedule.
