A sex addict can be classified as an individual who is addicted to the sexual experience and its surrounding behaviors. Many people believe affairs as being caused by "sexual addiction."
And even if sexual addiction can include deviant and rough sexual behavior that has nothing to do with affairs, the term has been occasionally used to include a person whose sex life is destructive and out of control.
And while certainly there are sexual deviants in this society, however based on the large numbers of people having affairs, this is hardly "deviant" behavior.
And while the term sexual addiction can be of importance in a few cases (may be to 7% according to the person who coined this phrase), it's unlucky that many people are tempted to blame "sexual addiction" as the cause of affairs-whether or not it fits.
However, despite the problem of inappropriately labeling someone who has affairs as a sexaholic, any genuine effort to understand and deal with this issue may be helpful to some people, especially when it involves getting more perspective of the consequences of their behavior and working to deal with the problems it has caused.

There is more to understand than reason for having an affair. Many people that have had an affair claim that an affair comes at the least expected time. And it provides a relief for something missing in a relationship. Surveys demonstrate that some of the main reason for an affair is as follow;

- Lack of affection from the other partner
- Revenge
- Pleasure
- Pride to feel wanted to by others

Affairs have a bad label within our current society and it is seen as a sin. However, on today's society there are all kinds of services provided and finding candidates to have an affair are not the exception.
