How to Make Water Balloon Launchers
- 1). Drill a hole near the lip of the wide opening of a large funnel. Drill another hole about 3 inches to the left of that hole, still near the lip of the funnel. Repeat this process for the opposite side of the funnel, ensuring the holes line up with the first two holes drilled.
- 2). Cut the rubber tubing in half to create two 10-foot pieces.
- 3). Thread one end of one piece of tubing from outside the funnel through the first hole you drilled. Push it into the funnel and thread it back out through the second hole you drilled. Pull the tubing through the hole until the ends are even. Tie the ends of the tubing together into a knot. Use the second piece of tubing to repeat this process to the holes on the opposite side of the funnel.
- 4). Fill up a balloon with water by sliding the mouth of the balloon over the mouth of a spigot and turn on the water. Tie a knot in the neck of the balloon to keep the water inside the balloon.
- 5). Position one person on one side of the launcher holding the rubber tubing taut. Position another person on the other side doing the same thing. Have the third person hold the funnel.
- 6). Put the balloon gently into the mouth of the funnel, and then pull the funnel back as far as it will go. Release the funnel and watch the balloon launch forward, fast and far.
