    San Antonio Museum of Art

    • The San Antonio Museum of Art, located close to the downtown area, features collection of art from different ethnic backgrounds, such as Asian, European, Oceanic and Latin American. Collections include paintings, ancient artifacts, and decor from the people of each region. The museum also features contemporary art works from artists of the 20th century and includes paintings and sculptures. Youth programs are also available to educate children on the works of art. There are also different visiting collections of art from around the world periodically at the museum.

    The Museo Alameda

    • The Museo Alameda is the country's largest Latino museum and is affiliated with the Smithsonian in Washington D.C. The museum celebrates Latino culture, history and art. The museum doesn't have any permanent collections; visiting collections comes to the Museo Alameda roughly every six months. On any visit to the museum one will find paintings, sculptures and objects pertaining to a specific Latin culture, country or event. The Museo Alameda, located on the historic Market Square is a modern contemporary work of art in and of itself, comprised of a steel cube like structure with decorative iron work in between.

    San Antonio League Art Museum

    • The San Antonio League Art Museum, located in the King William Historic District, features art work from local and regional artists, past and present. Exhibits include paintings, photography, graphic arts, ceramics, sculptures, furniture and even silverware. The museum has over 400 works of art in the permanent collection. Contemporary regional and local artists are featured in visiting exhibitions.
