How to Draw Outside of Houses for Free
- 1). Find reference images of different houses or take photos of the house you want to draw. Find images from different angles and perspectives and study them. These images will help add an element of accuracy to your drawing.
- 2). Break down the house into basic shapes. Rectangles are often the best shape for the main body of the house and triangles or trapezoids are the best shapes for the roof, depending on the angle of the house you are drawing.
- 3). Start to build up the larger details of the house, such as the doors and windows. Use your reference for inspiration if designing your own house, or for accuracy if drawing an existing house. Remember to keep the pencil strokes faint.
- 4). Add in the smaller details, such as brickwork, roof tiles, window frames, numbers on the door. Adding in a few surrounding details such as bushes, flowers and fences can really help to complete a drawing of a house.
- 5). Take your fine liner pen and draw over the pencil lines you want to keep. Let the pen ink dry for a few moments before you erase the pencil to avoid smudges. You should be left with a clean line drawing of a house.
