• 1). The easiest way ever to wear a head scarf is to first find a pretty one that you like, patterned or plain, whichever you prefer. Then lay the scarf down on a flat surface, like a table or the top of your dresser. Fold opposite corners together so the scarf makes a big triangle. Pick up the scarf by two of the triangle's points, and put it over your head so the third triangle point is turned toward your back. Loosely tie the two scarf triangle points under your chin in a simple knot.
  
  
• 2). Follow the directions above for another way to wear a square scarf. But instead of tying the points under your chin, cross them under your chin and tie them at the back of your neck. This was the way Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and Audrey Hepburn would wear a scarf.

• 4). Using a rectangular scarf, you can also get some dramatic effects. Put the middle of the scarf on your head. Holding one end of the scarf in each hand, cross them under your chin. Then push the ends over your shoulders and let them trail down your back. This is especially effective of the scarf has fringed ends. (Hint: You can use two very small safety pins to anchor the scarf ends to the top of your blouse or jacket. Use the safety pin underneath a fold of the scarf, and pin at the shoulder line of your blouse or jacket, so the tiny pin marks will be either washed out or erased by dry-cleaning later.)
  
  
• 5). Put the visor on first. Now use either style or scarf and drape it over your head, letting either the fold (for a square scarf) or the finished edge (for a rectangular scarf) lie flat on top of the visor, where the bill of the visor meets the strap that goes around your head. You can secure the scarf to the visor with safety pins. Or, if you want to make a different fashion statement, put the scarf on first, and then the visor on top of the scarf. If the scarf and visor match in color, they'll look like a very expensive all-in-one accessory. And you won't have to worry about your scarf blowing away in the wind!
