- 1). Unplug the old microwave oven from the electrical socket.
- 2). Unscrew the brackets holding the microwave in place if it is wall-mounted. Use a screwdriver to turn the screws counterclockwise.
- 3). Remove the glass plate from inside the microwave oven. The plate may come in handy for other cooking uses.
- 4). Take the old microwave to your nearest recycling center. Recycling centers dispose of nearly all electrical goods.
- 5). Ask the recycling staff where to dispose of your old microwave.
