What Is ISO Experience?
- ISO has produced over 18,000 standards on different subjects for technical fields. These include fields such as mathematics, environmental science, manufacturing engineering, electronics, shipbuilding, aircraft and space engineering, chemical technology, medical device manufacturing, civil engineering and military engineering.
- ISO develops new standards based on inquiries and proposals from industry sectors and stakeholders. An ISO technical committee meets and concludes if an international need exists for the proposed ISO standard. The committee develops the standard, and the standard goes through a series of consensus discussions and votes prior to approval.
- The ISO concept database is found on-line at the ISO website. It allows users to find information on standards, and provides users with information detailing the proper steps to propose and develop standards.
- A dcoument meeting ISO standards will contain the ISO logo with the designation "International Standard."
- ISO standards are the common product delivered by ISO. ISO releases five products that include International Standards, Technical Specifications, Technical Reports, Publicly Available Specifications and International Workshop Agreements.
