• Kids can create a purse or tote to carry around their essential plastic canvas necessities. Unfold a cereal box to use as a pattern for less experienced girls; cut the top flaps from the top of the box as you will not need them. • For girls who like to read, creating a bookmark will keep them from ever losing a page again. Cut plastic canvas 2 inches wide and 4 to 6 inches long. Create patterns in the bookmark by stitching with different colors. Place the bookmark on a bookshelf or in a book being read.

• Create stylish barrettes using plastic canvas and yarn. One technique is to trace and cut flowers out of the plastic canvas, stitch colors on the canvas with yarn and glue the pieces to a hair barrette or clamp. Add more detail by adding several shapes to one barrette or keep it simple with just one design. You can also cut bows, music notes or animals out of the canvas.
