Paradise, Arizona, is a ghost town, although the town's only lodging says Paradise has a dozen people. Located in southeastern Arizona, Paradise is just outside the Coronado National Forest, which features the Chiricahua National Monument. Paradise is just a few miles from the Arizona-New Mexico border, and the area is known for its bird watching. While there is just one lodging in Paradise, there are two others nearby. - Located a few miles east of Paradise, the Portal Peak Lodge is no-frills lodging near Cave Creek that still offers plenty of amenities. There are only 16 rooms, but each has access to a wooden deck. The lodge has a seven-day cancellation policy and can guarantee rooms with a credit card. It offers group rates for six or more people and discounts if you stay longer than a week. Rooms are non-smoking, feature double beds and are wheelchair-accessible. If you need to make a call, go to the front desk; guest rooms do not have telephones. The restaurant is next door, and if you wish, they can pack you a lunch to go. There is also a gift shop and grocery store.
