- 1). Cut five long pieces of string. Try experimenting with different color combinations.
- 2). Bend the pieces of string in half and tie the 10 ends together in a knot, so you are left with five loops hanging down.
- 3). Grab the center loop and pass it through the two loops to its right and pull tight.
- 4). Grab the new center loop and pass it through the two loops to its left and pull tight.
- 5). Repeat until your braid reaches the desired length.
