Permed hair is beautiful and versatile at any length. If you have long permed hair, you can choose from an array of gorgeous styles for formal or casual settings. Styling long permed hair can be as simple or as complicated as you want, and you always can incorporate a variety of hair accessories for added flair. - Comb the hair with your fingers to remove tangles. Secure the hair with ponytail holder, positioning the ponytail wherever you want the bun to be on your head. Loosely twist all of the hair, then wrap it in a loose knot around the base of the pony tail. Tuck the ends underneath and secure with bobby pins if needed. For a more casual style, use half of your hair to make the bun and let the ends flow freely.
- To add a punch of color to a casual style, add a lightweight scarf to your style. Smooth your hair at the crown of your head and secure it in a low, loose side ponytail so that your curls cascade over the front of one shoulder. Then tie the scarf comfortably around your hair either at the hairline or 1 to 2 inches back, with the scarf's knot at the base of your neck.
- For a look straight from the runways, choose a dramatic middle part with tons of volume on the top and sides of the head. Start with clean, conditioned hair and define your curls with a light or medium-control gel or anti-frizz serum. Work dime-sized amounts of product through your curls, concentrating on separating and defining ringlets. Part your hair down the middle of your scalp and use a fine comb to back-brush the roots at the top and sides of the head for incredible volume.
- To get a retro-chic look, create a voluminous bouffant with cascading curls. Use a soft-bristle brush to backcomb the roots at the crown of your head, and then take the hair along your hairline and draw it back over the lightly-teased hair and clip it neatly in the back. Tuck the ends under and secure with bobby pins. Define and smooth the rest of your hair, letting it hang freely.
- For an adventurous night out, add a hippie headband to your look. Part your hair down the middle and smooth all of the hair at the base of your scalp, letting volume build around the middle and the bottom of your curls. Use your favorite product to define your curls, letting them hang loose in front of your ears. Choose a thin elastic headband and position it on your forehead halfway between the tops of your eyebrows and your hairline.
