How to Keep Loafers From Stinking
- 1). Wash your feet thoroughly each day with antibacterial soap. Pay special attention to the area between your toes, where sweat and germs are likely to develop.
- 2). Fill a basin with warm water and 1/2 cup of white vinegar. Soak your feet in the mixture each day for approximately five minutes.
- 3). Spray your feet with foot deodorant spray just before putting on the loafers.
- 4). Sprinkle the insides of the loafers with baking soda the night before you plan to wear them Allow the powder to remain in place overnight and dust it out before wearing the shoes the next day.
- 5). Put dryer sheets inside the loafers after each wear.
- 6). Place odor-controlling insoles inside the shoes to absorb sweat.
- 7). Eliminate persistent loafer odors by cutting the feet and 4 to 5 inches of the legs from a pair of old pantyhose. Pour kitty litter into the foot of each piece of hose and tie the tops securely. Slip one of the litter-filled pantyhose feet into each loafer and allow them to remain there overnight to absorb difficult odors.
