How to Tie Dye With Kool Aid

104 5
    • 1). Mix 1 package of Kool-Aid with 1 ounce of vinegar in an individual plastic bowl for every color you wish to use, keeping each color separated from the others.

    • 2). Twist your shirt in various areas, grabbing fabric and securing sections of the shirt with rubber bands, separating each section from the others.

    • 3). Dip the various sections you have separated into the different colors of Kool-Aid and vinegar mix. You can create a tie-dye shirt with your favorite color, such as all blue, or opt to use mixed colors, such as green, blue, red, yellow and purple.

    • 4). Place the tie-dyed shirt outside in the sun to dry or inside under lighting and on a protective surface to protect from any dripping or staining. Keep the shirt drying for 24 hours before ironing it on medium to high heat. Use an ironing cloth between the iron and the shirt. This will allow the colors to set permanently.

    • 5). Wash and launder the shirt as you would a store-bought shirt.
