Great Blogging and Good Traffic
Blogging is a fun hobby.
It's best not to worry about traffic in the beginning.
After you have established a few dozen blogging posts your content will start showing up naturally in the search engines like Google, Yahoo, MSN's Bing, and others for the words you have targeted.
Even if you aren't targeting any words, you'll show up.
I showed up on the first page of Google for the word "hominy".
Trust me, that was totally unintentional, but it improved my traffic and member base on my very first forum.
Truth is, your audience is out there and they will find you.
You don't think you're one of a kind do you? Haha! Sorry, but there are plenty of us across the globe that think alike, and we are drawn to the net to find like-minded folks and their words of endearment.
There are a few steps you can take to be proactive in boosting your blog's traffic.
Remember, good traffic can mean good earnings if you are an aggressive publisher.
First, make sure that your article has an interesting lead in.
Capture your reader's attention so they'll be curious.
Secondly, make sure your article delivers the information you've promised in that catchy title.
It doesn't have to be perfect, but it has to fill some of the promise.
It's actually beneficial not to run with the in-crowd.
That's right, be controversial and disagreeable, but not in too nasty of a way - don't want to get hacked or attacked - just stir the interest and opinion of your readership.
Once your visitors see that you deliver on your article titles, they will become return visitors.
Okay, that leads us to this next important tip.
Make sure you are active on your blog as much as possible.
At least give a new blog post each day or each week, depending on how big of a post you make.
If they are small, you can do it daily, but if you are going to digest the week for your reader, make it a nice long article.
They'll come back for more.
Is your topic saturated? Oh, noes! Okay, just kidding, it isn't that bad if there are already 2 million blogs on your same topic.
Be spicy, personal, and interesting.
If you are going to blog about your dog and cat, what will set your blog apart from others? That's right, add some special interest in there such as what your vet had to say specifically about your pet's situation.
Don't forget the photos! Speaking of photos, here's a final thought.
Make sure you enhance all that you do on your blog with some catchy images.
They not only please your reader, they also get picked up in the index of Google and others.
Do NOT forget to use the ALT TAGS within your image source address (img src=/1.
jpg ALT=descriptive words here).
How many times have you wound up on a website because they had a cool pic that you wanted to see? There's your sign.
Until next time, happy blogging, fellow webbers.
