Traffic Law and The California DMV - A Perpetual Case of Efficiency Waste

Out in California, everybody dreads going to the Department of Motor Vehicles or DMV.
No one likes to wait in line just to get a number, to wait in line again.
No one likes to be told to fill out a certain form, and then when they get halfway through the process, they find out that their needs are different, therefore they must fill out another form.
In many regards "FORM" is a four letter word, and that is what the DMV is filled with; forms.
They have a form for everything, it's just amazing.
Nevertheless, if you don't fill out the forms you will have violated a traffic law before you even start to drive.
Okay so let's talk about the Department of Motor Vehicles out in California.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist, a Wharton MBA, or a Six Sigma "Black Belt" certification to realize that this is not one of the most efficient places on the planet.
In fact, just walking in it might look like they have things organized, but within a few minutes you realize it is a perpetual case of inefficient waste.
They seem to have dot-matrix printers which were used in the 1970s, and who knows maybe they were, maybe they have a sweetheart deal with some government supplier and vendor that they've had for the last four decades, I have no idea.
Indeed, sometimes I wonder if the employees have any idea either, or maybe they just don't care.
It is interesting that the government wants us to go paperless, and yet agencies like this do nothing more than create more paperwork, forms, and cause more clear-cutting of our rain forests than even the required Environmental Impact Reports for the EPA.
Once you've gone to a DMV you realize that you'd rather do everything by mail.
Unfortunately, we have another problem as often registration tags are stolen out of the mail and then you have to fill out another form to get a new set.
Driving without registration tags will definitely get you pulled over because some of that money goes to Police Departments and the California Highway Patrol.
They realize they need that budget money and if you are driving around without a registered vehicle, you are hurting their agency's budget, thus, they are definitely going to pull you over, because you didn't pay your taxes, or in this case they called them; fees.
You may not like waiting in line at the DMV, you may hate filling out the forms, but if you don't, there will surely be hell to pay later - so don't go there - actually do; go to the DMV that is.
Please consider all this and think on it.
