When Creating an Ecourse, Is There Such a Thing As Too Much Content?

103 8
People tend to get way too caught up on content for their ecourse.
How much content should I use?  Is there such thing as too much content?  Is there a set amount of content I should include with each episode of the ecourse?  Have you ever asked yourself any of these questions?  Whether you have or not, what I'm about to explain is a good bench mark for anything that has to do with content.
First of all, I truly believe there is no such thing as "too much content" for your ecourse.
If the ecourse is good, more content is probably the best thing for it.
Think about it, if you have people subscribing to your ecourse, they are expecting to get great stuff and a lot of content.
If you don't deliver, you may have just lost a potential sale and a long term customer.
If you feel you don't want to give away your content in your ecourse, then don't do it!  You can always offer an ecourse for "advanced users" or a "mastery of the subject" type ecourse.
When I say there's no such thing as too much content, I'm in product creation mode.
If you're content is good, you not only have the ability to offer it, but you have the obligation to offer it to people who are interested in it.
ALSO, you have the RIGHT to ask for some sort of monetary compensation for your content.
Here's an example where "too much content" can benefit your business.
You offer a basic ecourse for free on your website.
The kind of ecourse that brings people in.
Of course, you want to offer great content as you want people who subscribe to understand you know what you're talking about.
Then, because you have so much content, at the end of basic ecourse people subscribe to, you offer them some sort of "advanced user" type of ecourse.
With this one, you can then charge folks for subscribing.
Will you get a lot of takers?  That depends on what you feel is a lot.
If 20% of the basic ecourse subscribers go for the advance one, that's a pretty good conversion.
The whole point of this is to let you know that if you feel your ecourse has "too much" content, then you're in a great position!  Too much content can ALWAYS be turned into more product.
Whether it's another ecourse, an ebook, some sort of audio, or whatever.
If you feel you have too much content, that's a good thing!
