Dosage

• Wellbutrin is prescribed in tablet form and administered orally. It is very important that you take this medication exactly as it was prescribed to you. Do not alter or skip a dose of Wellbutrin. If you forget to take this medicine, take Wellbutrin as soon as you are able. Do not double up on this medication, as too much Wellbutrin taken at one time can cause seizures.
  
  

Effects of Wellbutrin

• Side effects of Wellbutrin are typically mild to moderate. Whether the side effects you are experiencing are short-lived or longer lasting, you need to tell your doctor about them. Your dosage may need adjusting, or, if symptoms are particularly bothersome, he may prescribe an alternative to Wellbutrin. Symptoms considered mild to moderate include a lack of sexual desire, persistent headache which can elevate to migraine, difficulty sleeping, feeling dizzy, increase in sweat production or mild itchy rash.
  
  

Severe Reactions

• It is important that you get immediate medical help if you experience a severe side effect after taking Wellbutrin. Do not wait to call your doctor, or wait to see if the symptoms will go away. Severe side effects of Wellbutrin can be fatal, so it is very important that you seek emergency treatment. Side neffects which are considered severe include skin rash such as hives, difficulty breathing, and oral swelling (which includes facial swelling, or swelling of the lips, throat or tongue). Wellbutrin may also cause seizures, severe blistering, mood or behavior changes, anxiety or panic attacks, fever, hallucinations or confusion. Get help right away if you experience any of these side effects.
  
  

Interaction

• Some drugs or medical conditions may interact with Wellbutrin to cause stronger negative reactions or lengthen the duration of side-effect symptoms. Do not take Wellbutrin without talking to your doctor about your full medical history. Drugs which can cause an interaction with Wellbutrin include other antidepressants, cancer medications, high blood pressure or heart medicines, antihistimines, asthma medications, birth control medication, diet pills, insulin for diabetes, prescription pain medications such as narcotics, steroids (Prednisone), bladder/kidney medications such as Ditropan and medication for nausea or motion sickness.
  
  

Avoid

• Some activities performed while taking Wellbutrin may cause side effects to worsen. Alcohol should be avoided while taking Wellbutrin, as it may cause seizures. Wellbutrin may cause an inability to think clearly. Be careful driving or operating any machinery while taking this medication.
