Rubbing Alcohol

• Catching the stain when it's first made will make removing it much easier, as it will still be wet instead of set into the carpet. Wet a cloth or paper towel with rubbing alcohol, and press down on top of the stain. Do not rub the stain, as this can grind the color into the carpet further; patting the stain should begin to remove some of the color. If it's working, you should be able to see pink and orange traces appearing on the cloth -- this will be easier to see if you have white cleaning rags. Repeat as necessary to remove all of the stain.
