My Dead Girlfirend
Finney Bleak lives in a world of horror--literally. His family are ghosts, his classmates are monsters, and Finney is the most normal kid in school. But within the halls of Mephisto Prep, normal is the new weird and Finney dangles from the lowest rung of the social evolutionary ladder. Then along comes Jenny. Smart. Beautiful. And totally into Finney. Only problem is, she's kind of dead. Jenny may be the ethereal object of Finney's affection, but their corporal differences keep them apart. As if young romance wasn't awkward enough, try getting frisky with a ghost. Just how far will Finney go to be with his true love? Let's just say not even Death can stand in his way.
This is My Dead Girlfriend, a new manga release from TOKYOPOP. Created by Eric Wight (he's the ghost-artist for Seth on The O.C.), My Dead Girlfriend gives true love a whole new twist.
Finney is a good kid - athletic, smart and bewitchingly handsome. Unfortunately, he attends Mephisto Middle School where normal is anything but popular. His girlfriend Jenny became a ghost after falling down a rabbit hole. If only Finney didn't have that uncanny ability for avoiding death - maybe he and Jenny could finally hook up.
Rated T13+ for teens age 13 and up, My Dead Girlfriend is a fun and lighthearted read. You can find it at your favorite manga retailer on February 13, 2007. Don't want to wait? Read chapter 1 at TOKYOPOP's online manga player.
