Yoga is an old discipline from India. Yoga uses breathing techniques, exercise and meditation. It claims to improve health and happiness. Yoga is the Sanskrit word for union. Yoga is certainly a process which involves relieving blocked tension and also energy in the body, and helping make your muscles, tendons, joints, ligaments, as well as all other parts function to their greatest potential. Yoga strengthens the entire body: flexibility and strength of the spine, increased circulation, and ensures the supply of nutrients and oxygen to the nerves. Asanas massage internal organs, stimulating pressure points that govern the flow of life energy or prana.

Hathayoga: Emphasizes the most on exercise of physical body.

Gyanyoga: It is a way of knowledge.

Karmayoga: It is a way of work.

Bhaktiyoga: It is a way of worship.

Classification based on a way of other things.

Swaryoga: Emphasizes the most on breathing.

Kriyayoga: Emphasizes the most on blending Karmayoga (Tapa), Gyanyoga (Swadhyay) and Bhaktiyoga (Ishwar Pranidhan).

Physical advantages of yoga

Yoga has been highly westernized in recent years, and a majority of the result of this westernization and modernization is the heightened profile of the physical aspect yoga has to offer. This physically-exerting practice is typically hatha yoga, which combines asanas that exert the participant's physical self. The therapeutic healing benefits of yoga were recently discussed by Van der Kolk, who posited that regulation of physical movement is a fundamental priority of the nervous system.
