- 1). Install a free-standing sewage ejector system . Choose one that is designed to sit on the floor and does not have to be placed into a hole in the ground. This will eliminate the need to break through the concrete floor of the basement. Several brands of such surface-mount sewage ejectors are available.
- 2). Place the toilet on top of the sewage ejector if the ejector is designed for this, or on a platform high enough to allow it to drain into the ejector.
- 3). Connect the toilet to the ejector with the adaptors provided, if it is mounted on the ejector. If the toilet is mounted on a platform, connect it to a flange attached to the platform and connect the flange to a waste line that drains into the ejector. You may need a 3-by-2-inch reducer coupling.
- 4). Route the drain lines from the basement sinks to the ejector or to the toilet waste line. Connect them directly to the ejector or to the toilet waste line as it enters the ejector.
- 5). Connect the output line of the ejector to the house drain line, using 2-inch or 3-inch waste pipe as specified by the manufacturer.
- 6). Plug the sewage ejector into a 120-volt wall outlet.
