How to Check Event Viewer

    • 1). Click the "Start" button to launch the Start menu.

    • 2). Double-click "Control Panel" and choose "System and Maintenance."

    • 3). Click "Administrative Tools," then double-click "Event Viewer." A new window will pop up on your screen.

    • 4). Click the "Windows Logs" header in the menu in the left pane to extend the section.

    • 5). Click any topic from the "Windows Logs" section to see information about the events that have happened on your computer in the middle pane.

    • 6). Double-click an event to get more information about it in a smaller pop-up window.

    • 7). Click the "Save All Events As" option in the right frame to save the events as another file, such as a text file. This can be used to record patterns of events for troubleshooting your computer.
