How to Make Center Knots for Hair Bows
- 1). Turn on the glue gun and soldering iron. Make sure both are in a safe place because they will become very hot in a short amount of time. Gather the hair bow and ribbon to make the center knot.
- 2). Cut a 5-inch piece of 3/8-inch ribbon. Cross the left side of the ribbon over the right side to create a hole. Push the other end through the hole and pull both ends until you achieve the size knot you want to use.
- 3). Place a small dab of glue on the center of the front side of the hair bow. Attach the knot to the hair bow and allow the glue to dry for at least 3 minutes before gluing the backside of the bow.
- 4). Turn the hair bow over. Take one end of the knotted ribbon and pull it gently to the middle of the bow. Cut off excess ribbon with scissors. Hold the soldering iron wand up to the end of the ribbon for 1 or 2 seconds. This will keep the ends from fraying. Place a small dab of glue in the center of the ribbon and attach the end.
- 5). Repeat Step 4 on the other end of the ribbon. Allow ribbon to completely dry before attaching clips.
