- 1). Lay the fluorocarbon leader and the main line so they are parallel to one another, but face opposite directions. The lines should have a one-foot overlap.
- 2). Wrap the fluorocarbon line around the main line five times. Grab the tag end of fluorocarbon and bring it to the loop where the two lines cross. Thread the end of the fluorocarbon through the loop.
- 3). Wrap the end of the main line around the fluorocarbon line five times. Grab the tag end of the main line and bring it to the loop where the two lines cross. Thread the end of the main line through the loop.
- 4). Tighten the blood knot by pulling on the two tag ends of line.
- 5). Cut the tag ends of each line 1/8 inch beyond the knot.
